dont be sorry self portraits are just fine. that's mostly all i do. you know what you're capable of and you know you'll get what you want cause if someone else was to model they might not see it the same. that sounds kinda confusing, but i think you get what im trying to say.
i like doing both as well. and i know what you mean. explaining takes i guess to be cheesey some of the magic of it away. a pic should never be described and/or explained in words. it's a vision. sometimes i even feel slightly embarressed by what im telling them. like they might not like it or think it's stupid. i like working with ppl that know im weird and are willing to be obedient. i tell them beforehand that they must listen to me until the shoot is over then they can tell me to go to hell. : )

Well, you do switch up the elements of the picture, which gives it a different mood.
Some aspects may be repeititive, but its the different ones that make all your pictures unique.
